For the October issue of FLEXO, Publishers Label-Pak was asked to showcase our capabilities as the 2011 Narrow Web Best of Show Printer along with two Flexographic Technical Association 2011 Technical Innovation Award winners on our Mark Andy P7 Flexopress. The theme for the job, "Color in Focus," is also shared by the FTA's 2011 Fall Conference. This past year, Publishers Printing Company received the Flexographic Technical Association's Gold and Best of Show award for Narrow Web Publication with the Alpinist Autumn 2010 magazine cover.
It was an honor to print and the outcome was "a high shine, over printable foil surface that adds visual luster and shelf appeal," per Bob Witte, VP for API Foils. Special effects included embossing, cold foiling and tactile varnishing. The article in FTA Today highlighted the award-winning technologies and award-winning execution on the production floor with the expectation of quality, consistency, print; plus minimal waste, quick setup and state-of-the-art operating efficiencies.
