Publishers Press launches ad portal for its clients

Shepherdsville, KY—August 26, 2009—Publishers Press, a content distribution provider, has streamlined the file submission process for its magazine publishing customers by offering easy ad submission through the portal SendMyAd..

"Much the same way page workflows have evolved over the past few years, ads now have the same opportunities," said Mark Veatch, vice president of customer service at Publishers Press. "With this service our customers are immediately seeing the benefits of accuracy and time, and are saving money in the process."

With this all-in-one portal, advertisers submit and approve materials directly to the SendMyAd system for both print and digital platforms. The portal preflights the ad and sends e-mail notifications to alert advertisers of uploads and approvals. "Today’s tight schedules require clean, predictable, print-ready files," adds Ed Henson, digital manufacturing group manager at Publishers Press. "This system allows remote access to preflight and validate ads prior to page creation, which means problems can be found and fixed well upstream."

SendMyAd ensures that the ads are ready for insertion into the magazine, eliminating the manual processes for Publishers Press customers. If the ad does not preflight correctly, SendMyAd alerts the advertiser and gives them directions on how to fix the ad themselves.

"A lot of time is wasted sending ad files, along with their preflight reports, back and forth between the advertiser, publisher, and printer," Veatch says. "Using this service, advertisers send an accurate file to be placed on the page, one time."
Says Henson: "By using SendMyAd, our customers and their advertisers can be sure they have increased predictability and a decreased chance of unknown problems holding up the production process at a much more critical step."

Publishers Press is a family owned company in its fifth generation, with two production plants near Louisville, Kentucky. What began as a printing company in 1866 has evolved into a leading content distributor with a strong expertise in the magazine publishing industry. The full-service operation offers capabilities that include printing, distribution, e-mail marketing, digital editions, and more, with a concentrated focus on providing solutions to its clients.
