Publishers Press releases all new PICA

Shepherdsville, KY—May 11, 2011—Publishers Press, a publication printer and content distribution provider, is proud to announce the release of our completely rewritten Publishers Information and Costing Analysis application. PICA is an innovative job planning and estimating tool already in use by Publisher Press' personnel. This same program is now being made available to our customers as a value-added service. PICA is a web-based download for use on either the Mac or PC platform, allows for unlimited number of users and receives automatic updates.

"It's the natural evolution of PICA for us and it's a system everyone can use," Mark Veatch, Vice President of Customer Service, explained. "It's logically-written and self-intuitive. There's no need for a manual because it simply works."

PICA offers users centralized job instructions including book building and version planning. It allows publishers to check live inventory for distribution, along with unlimited job scenarios to generate estimates and manage budgets. Through Book Map, publishers can utilize graphical planning of advertising/editorial placements, import ad lists from a variety of sources and utilizes automatic placement alerts.

"From initial budget planning to final flat-plan creation, PICA has allowed our group to create and archive clear, consistent print and distribution instructions," Terry Duffy, Director at Palm Beach Media Group and PICA user, said. "Instead of using several pieces of software for print orders, distribution information and pagination, we now have one universal tool that all staff members can access and update. PICA has reduced redundant functions and improved our internal planning and communication."
