When Selling Advertising, Providing Options is Key
There are many creative avenues available when it comes to advertising in a magazine. Full-page ads are certainty an efficient tool. But what if your advertisers are looking for a more effective way to stand out? Let them know they have options. Here are some examples:
Printed Polybags
Printed polybags are a unique way to catch the reader's attention before the magazine is even opened. Readers have to physically open the bag in order to get the magazine out. Having an advertisement printed on a polybag ensures that ad will be noticed, so it won't be skipped while flipping through pages or ignored altogether. The polybag is a great tool to ensure an ad will be seen by all.
Tipping
Tipping is a way to allow your advertisers to insert brochures, posters, samples of products, etc., into pages of the magazine. The advertisement is held in place by a removable glue strip, which is inserted near the spine of the magazine. Readers will be able to easily remove the product and, while doing so, check out the ad on the page. Another great feature of tipping is that the insert allows the magazine to naturally fall open to that specific page, offering more exposure and a bigger chance the ad will be seen.
Stickers
For a change in texture and a definite attention grabber, try offering stickers as an advertising option. Placing a sticker on the front of the magazine is a definite way to ensure readers will notice that specific ad. It gives them a heads-up and increases the chances of them turning to that page. Stickers can even be cut to a customized shape, adding even more interest. If your advertisers want their ad to pop, placing a sticker on the front of the magazine is a great way to achieve that.
